On Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 Deer Creek voters approved a $142.1 million bond package to accommodate the fast-increasing student population in the Deer Creek School District. The various pieces of the bond package were developed by four long-range planning committees (facilities, curriculum, technology, and safety) to address the needs of the District over the next ten years.
The bond package will, among other things, address the following needs of the District:
- Construction of a new middle school;
- Construction of 35 additional classrooms, 7 science labs, 3 computer labs and a second cafeteria at the high school;
- Construction of a performing arts and athletic center at the high school;
- Upgrade transportation and athletic facilities;
- Construction of a fifth elementary school; and
- Upgrade safety, security and technology.
This website is intended to provide the voters an opportunity to be informed about the progress of the projects funded by the successful approval of Bond 39.
